Description

A traditional style soup that combines the richness of ham with the earthy flavor of black-eyed peas. Your luck gets better with every spoonful. Just add ham, tomatoes, and water.

Hint:
Soup will be even richer if you have the time to simmer a ham bone or the 2 cups of ham in the 3 quarts of water for about 30 minutes prior to adding soup packet. You may also substitute Rotel tomatoes or flavored tomatoes for a zestier flavor. Serve with your favorite cornbread.

Best soup ever! I also add baby spinach. I have received so many compliments each time I serve this.

  2. Bruce Burton

Tried this soup at a winter fair in Ohio, and was sold from the first taste. I simmered my smoked ham in the water/stock before adding the mix and really didn’t add anything else (except the tomatoes). Wow, really a perfect blend of ingredients and spices. Hearty and wonderful. I can’t get enough of this yummy soup!

  3. Angela king

I made this soup with ham bone and rotel tomatoes. Yummy

  4. Chris J.

We love this soup! This and the vaquero are our two favorites. I simemred ham in half chicken broth and half water for 30 mintues as suggested and it really made it rich and tasty.

This is the first soup I tried after a friend bought it for me and said “You have to try this!” It’s amazing. Everything this company makes is top notch.
