Gumbo Mix Recipe


You can take five different cooks, and they'll each make a different gumbo. There's something great about gumbo's ability to ease the soul, create conversation, and bring people together. That is what gumbo does best.

Chicken Base [salt, dextrose, maltodextrin (from corn), corn starch, palm oil,
onion powder, chicken fat, yeast extract, natural flavorings, turmeric, disodium inosinate and
disodium guanylate], Pinto Bean Powder [pinto bean, sunflower lecithin (processing aid)], Cream of
Mushroom Soup Mix [whey powder, salt, butter powder (butter and nonfat milk), natural flavor,
mushroom extract (mushrooms and maltodextrin), guar gum, carrageenan, onion powder, yeast
extract, champignon mushrooms, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), and soybean oil (processing
aid)], Tomato Powder (tomato, maltodextrin, corn starch, and lecithin), Chili Mix (chili pepper, spices,
corn flour, salt, sugar, garlic*, and spice and coloring), Mexican Seasoning [chili pepper, garlic*,
spices, onion*, spice and coloring, and silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent)], Onion*, Okra*, Celery
Stalk*, Worcestershire Powder [dextrose, garlic*, caramel color (contains sulfites), CMC gum, salt,
spices, chili pepper, mustard flour, malic acid, onion*, natural flavors, and silicon dioxide (anti-caking
agent)], Chili Powder [chili pepper, spices, salt, garlic*, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), and
ethoxyquin (antioxidant)], Spices, Bell Pepper*, and Gumbo File.

    Great base to make it your own! I added a 10oz bag of frozen okra, and shrimp(right before I served it or the shrimp gets mushy)

    My family just loved this gumbo!! I made a seafood gumbo out of it with shrimp, crab, chicken, sausage, etc. I’m on this site to order more!! We discovered these folks while at Canton Trade Days recently.

    Delicious gumbo! I added shrimp, chicken, and andouille. Family loved it and enough left over for a few additional bowls for lunch the next day! Highly recommend!

    Great Stuff. Didn't give it a 5 because I'd prefer it a bit thicker. Next time 2 ½ quarts water for me.....

    This is an outstanding seasoning. As i do with everything, i went a lot heavier on the meat suggested but “Oh my gosh”. This is definitely worth buying. I just ordered two more Gumbo and going to try the chili and chicken and rice. If the Gumbo was that good, the others have to be as well. Don’t pass this up.
